In today’s logistic and courier industry, with its growing emphasis on security, makes it vitally important to be able to track the location of time-critical and high value cargoes. Knowing the location of these goods, and ensuring they remain on designated routes, gives reassurance and peace of mind while they are in transit. Moreover, knowing the precise location of transportation vehicles can assist in logistic operations and if necessary, cargo recovery management. GPS solution can provide location, heading and speed data for all associated vehicles. Combine with tracking software, it can be used to designate approved routes and schedules; then alerts can be issued automatically if they deviate from plan. In many situations City-Link will want to track vehicles and its cargoes covertly – perhaps to recover stolen goods or monitor supply-chain performance. City-Link vehicles fitted with these telemetric devices in concealed locations. Once installed, these GPS systems allow vehicle to be tracked down to street level, which means a complete history of dates, times, locations and speeds can be built up. These records can be 'replayed' and analyzed later, or used to track the asset in real-time. Against a background of increased security measures, it is becoming more and more important to demonstrate traceability of cargoes and goods passing through given state-border.
GPS allow all aspects of the journey to be cover, including exclusion zones, length and location of stops, and typical truck delay points and rest points. With the fixed solution it is also possible to determine when and where doors are opened, helping to demonstrate load integrity, if required or to identify possible contraband discharging areas.
We have 35 vehicles fitted with GPS device which are under close monitoring by a team of competent staffs from logistic, operation and security division. If require, vehicle designated for selected premium cargo will be fitted with additional security devices and monitor efforts which will provide a peace of mind to customer for selecting City-Link Express as their preferred logistic partner. |
